I chatted with an old friend today for a rather lengthy time.
They were kinda of... sudo parents for me when I first moved to Mankato in Minnesota.
They have since moved back to Utah to be near their 6 kids and we have gone our seperate ways.
She reminded me of the strength that is inside me...
She reminded me of the circle of support that we all provide for each other.
Like that trust game you used to play at camps. Where you all stood in a circle and sat down at the same time, and in theory you sit on the person's lap behind you. Where you can support the full weight of a person, as long as you put your full weight on someone else, and let them carry you.
It was a long phone call of catching up. I am promising myself to make one phone call a week to those friends who are far and wide, and make sure that we all support each other. Otherwise, how else are we supposed to make it through this crazy mess of life?!
