Simple words I have, fortunately, never said.
What frustrates me about people is the fact that they sit and complain how they should do something with their life, without actually taking steps to do anything about it. As if I am supposed to magically hand them an awesome situation so they won't have to work hard for it.
News flash: LIFE ISN'T THAT EASY!
If you want something, you do it. Plain and simple. Now, recently I have had someone tell me that life isn't simple (this person was talking on something completely unrelated to this subject) and anyone who sums it up as such is lying. This is true. My statement before on "if you want something, you do it" is not, in fact, an easy road to travel at all. However, it is a road full of challenges that are worth it because, lets face it, no one wants to be a 30 year old living in their parent's basement working part time at McDonalds. (not only does no one want that for themselves, but who wants to marry that?!)
I cannot, then, understand why people won't take ambition to actually do something that they claim so fervently that they want to do. This leads me to believe one of two things; either they're just flat out lazy and really do expect me to hand them their perfect life somehow, or they really have no inner desire to do what they claim they do.
Whatever the reason, these people make me feel more and more distant the more I move on in my life. I see the light at the end of my tunnel full of job opportunities that I have always dreamed of, while they still claim they should do such and such. All I can do is pray that they eventually find what makes them the most happy in their lives.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying everyone should go to college and get a Ph.D, but at least do what you keep claiming you really desire to do. "Whatever you are, be a good one" - Abe Lincoln
