"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."

Other good news---my interview at MH went very well & as soon as all my references are cleared, I will be offered a position Saturday & Sunday from 11:00AM to 9:00PM. It fits perfectly with my schedule and leaves plenty of open time in the week.

But even better than that, my current job---now that they see I actually NEED the money + benefits from the daytime position, my boss is going to try to fanagle the schedule and see what she can do for me since I told her I would obviously prefer to stay entirely at Setauket.

No promises and she told me to continue doing what I need to do otherwise, but at least there is hope!

I really wouldn't mind working 2 jobs, especially 2 jobs in this field, but the Maryhaven job is 11 consumers in the house and sometimes you work with four consumers at once, despite it being a more severe range of MR. Most of our consumers at Setauket aren't that MR, but the coupling of their physical disabilities is what makes them be less independent than consumers with more MR.

So anyways, that's all freaking good!

Also, my mom is going to try to get on the PLUS loan people and figure out wtf is going on. I really need to get all that stuff taken care of before I go pick up my grad tickets! Which means I need to go to the mailroom and pick up that book I am replacing + pay my library fines as well.

And the quote, I just put it because it reminds me of exactly why I work where I work and don't need some huge fancy prestigious career like some other people think I should seek. I feel more productive and positive where I am, with what I am doing. Already I have seen how they can progress, and I can't wait to get into clinical social work where I am one of the biggest impetuses behind some of the changes.
