Aaron and I are almost all moved in. There are a lot of little things that still need to be done, but the majority is good. I also found out that I am the worst carpenter ever. I tried to put together a DVD case stand thing that holds 200 DVDs today but I really sucked it up. I put it together all wrong and now I think it is ruined. I spent $45 on that too :(
There are a lot of little things I have to get from my dorm. I also still have to find my cell phone and move my computer & TV, two things that will be annoying to do. Saturday is going to be clean-dorm-room day, wherein I will fix up my dorm room in order to avoid any and all charges.
I emailed my mom last week and told her that Aaron & I found an apartment + would be moving in soon (did not say in five days). She has not yet responded.
On another note, I think I am going to buy an early Christmas present to myself called a TiVo box, along with a cell phone if I can. I wanted the Blackberry for the Internet access but I cannot afford to pay $60/month for minutes + Internet that I won't even use! Anyways, I want to get the TiVo box because I am finding that I am missing a lot of my favorite shows :( I think it will be a good idea. Last night I missed the first 25 minutes of LOST due to going and getting our mattress. I was quite peeved because it seems like it turned out to be an incredibly important episode, with lots of information about "The Others." I am worried that they will steal Rose from the other camp because "she is a good one." Also, the preview for next week's episode was AMAZING, but I will be on the road :( Another great reason for TiVo.
I am really tired. I had to go to work last night, even though I usually have off, because the person who does the Wed. asleep called in. I also have 4 hours of class ahead of me that I cannot/should not/will not miss. Then hanging out with Jessica & Grace which should be FUN at least. Maybe we can go to Best Buy and get the TiVo box.
That reminds me, I probably need to return my DVDs to Hollywood Video soon.
Thinking about it, I think I might use my last absence for WRT 102 today. I am not sure. It is going to be a VERY tedious class, going over citations and junk, and I have a lot to do back in my dorm room. Plus I am so freaking exhausted. But at the same time, it would be a waste to use my absence on a day I'm already on campus (SINC site right now, had to print my POL paper). I think I'll look at the syllabus and see what's coming up in the days ahead.
There are still 6 classes after this one. But they are all less tedious because either papers are due OR it is "TBA" which means we will probably do some reading or something since our portfolios will already be turned in at that point. I can't believe that there are still three weeks of school left, I want it to be done with.
Of course, I haven't even BEGUN to study for my finals, so maybe that's not such a great plan after all!
I got to school early so that I would have time to print my paper, but now I feel like I got here TOO early. I have 40 minutes to kill before I can go to class and I already read my friends' pages. I don't know what else to do, lol!! Especially when I am so tired now that my brain is totally NOT working. Really leaning towards not going to WRT 102, maybe I can squeeze in an hour nap in between 305 & proctor-test.
So anyways, the apartment is really looking nice. The living room, the kitchen, and the bathroom are almost all set. We just need to fix this thing in the closet, organize the bookshelves, set up the TV + Surround Sound, and get rid of the stuff that was left that we do not need. I am assuming that the pots/pans/plates that were left are just trash & not important or they would have gotten taken out. We shouold probably save the curtain and shower curtain in a closet somewhere since Don & Debi will probably want those back in the future.
The bedroom, on the other hand, is a complete disaster. Mostly because all the construction is going on in there. Clothes are everywhere because the dressers are not done. Shelves and screws and everything are everywhere too. But our bed looks nice and is almost fully set up. Just the decorative bars have to be put into place.
I was really surprised. The place does not really look overly cluttered or anything, which was what I feared. I was afraid we would have too much stuff, but I think we have just the right amount. It is a perfect apartment for us and Kinsey ADORES it. He has been running around like a crazy person, not knowing what to do with three times as much space as before.
Kinsey is also finally feeling better it seems!!
One other awesome thing---having a bath tub and being able to take super hot long long baths. Yum!
