You know Arial is a bit greedy here. She expects just because it's a different place that it will be completely different. She expects that men will not be men on land and fathers will not be fathers. Fathers will always be fathers no matter where you are and men will ALWAYS be men. She wants to change here whole life just for some stupid guy. I can understand her wanting to go on land to research a whole new world, but for a guy? She is also willing to leave her entire family forever just to be happy, making all of them sad. I really do love this song because it was the way I felt. I wanted to be a mermaid hoping these exact changes will happen, but for now I guess I just have to stay human and deal with it, seeing as the other species has the same problems.
