Bunker Mentality: Thank You For Not Masturbating

Sep 29, 2008 10:24

Another year, another Folsom Street Fair, another opportunity to pull a jaded face and tell everyone that I like the idea of the Folsom Street Fair, but that it all falls apart when confronted with the sweaty, crowded, hairy-backed, cock-ringed reality outside of my front door. I want to see pretty people. I want to sit back and listen to Berlin ( Read more... )

AMF corsets are SO amazing. How did you mange to resist the urge?!

They didn't have anything that fit exactly right. A lot of the corsets were too big, and the ones that weren't were fine through the bust and the waist, but didn't quite curve enough to make room for my hips. I'm not going to spend that much money on a corset unless it's perfect. Last year I tried on one of their white medical-themed corsets that AMF had used in a bunch of photo shoots. It was a custom job that the owner was willing to sell to me for the off-the-rack price, and it fit perfectly. If I'd had the money at the time, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

This may just be my Midwestern naivete, but isn't masturbating in public illegal? Even in San Francisco? I guess I just don't understand why your cops aren't viciously busting heads open in the street, or at least telling people to zip up or get arrested. That seems reasonable to me.

Good luck finding a cop at the Folsom Street Fair. Sure, there are plenty of big, hulking leather daddies dressed as cops, but they usually aren't that interested in stopping guys from masturbating all over the street. Indeed, I believe they may encourage it.

I figured it was tolerated, but golly, people got arrested at Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and they tolerated quite a bit down there, when it used to exist. I'm beginning to suspect that Bill O'Reilly is right about you San Francisco people.

(Well...no, I'm not.)

There is some police presence at the Folsom Street Fair. The SFPD has a recruiting booth.

The Ess Eff police are a lot more worried about cracking down on fun during our Halloween festivities. So far, they have left Folsom Street Fair alone.

Once again, I missed you at the Rainbow booth. I am a bad internet acquaintance. Generally, the Rainbow booth is very far away from my Bunker, so it takes me a long time to get to that end of the fair. I was told that the fair was actually smaller than it had been in previous years - meaning that it was packed into less space - and that resulted in even greater density than usual.

One of these years...

and yeah, I think they should make it bigger, not smaller. It gets way too crowded.

It's the sweaty cocks bumping into me from behind that really get me. I'm sorry I missed tea and your party, and the corset-sampling, but not at all sorry to miss Folsom.
