It turns out that I am an optimist after all. I see my eyeball as half full. It is still not possible to see out of my left eye, especially since the meniscus wobbles straight through the middle of my line of vision. Oh, I went trick or treating. I learned early on that rich people have all of the best candy, so I did my trick or treating in Pacific Heights. I think that somewhere around six years old, I may have dressed up as an unironic princess. I also took ballet. This phase did not last long.

One very exciting thing happened with my vision the other day: I noticed that the grey spot in my peripheral vision is gone. My vision in my left eye is still uselessly blurry, but this is an indication that once the air bubble is gone and I have new corrective lenses, I will probably get all of my eyesight back.

Please tell me that you will do as you're told and take it easy and not rush things and possibly injure yourself. Or don't tell me, just do it. Like Eliot told us, life is very long. If your eye needs an extra week, take the extra week. Okay? Okay.

I am taking it easy. It is not in my nature to do so, but I am trying. I have not yet been to the gym this week.
I am lucky that things have been fairly slow at work, which gives me a reasonable amount of time in which to recover. My co-workers have been very understanding. Now that things are calming down, I am able to relax a bit, but I am also able to process just how frightening and stressful all of that was.
