Clowns

The Very Serious Circus School is run by clowns. Presumably this is why they have had their second shutdown in the last four months, during which they have suspended classes because they are unable to pay the teachers. I know that the Very Serious Circus School has had Very Serious Financial Problems for the last few years. They've raised the price of classes, private instruction, and open gym. They have become somewhat more strict about tracking people's comings and goings, so that it is no longer possible for freeloaders to randomly walk into the gym and work out.

Even so, the Very Serious Circus School closed it doors without warning. At 10 pm on Sunday, they sent out an email to all of their students announcing a "Town Hall meeting" where we could discuss our plans for saving the school. The meeting had been set for 11:00 on Monday during the President's Day Weekend. I hope that some people showed up, but I would certainly understand if 13 hours advance notice on a long weekend is not quite enough time in which to rally the troops. I had wondered how it was possible to mismanage the circus school's finances so badly that suddenly, with no warning, there was no money for payroll -- twice. This sort of last-minute email may offer some insight into just how they've managed to pull that off.

I hope that the Very Serious Circus School manages to get its act together. Right now, I feel as if I am paying more and more money for fewer and fewer services. I imagine that is nothing compared to how the teachers are feeling. I would be pretty angry if I counted on the Very Serious Circus school's money to pay my rent. In the meantime, it's time to hatch a plan of escape. All I need is a 30' ceiling and a crash pad.
