Never a dull moment...
There is never a dull moment at WCJB TV 20 News... Man today was absolutely CRAZY!!!!!
Our station caught on fire, yeah that's right ON FIRE! lol
All I could do is laugh, because this place sucks. Earlier today I was sooo frustrated because my boss is really ridiculous and never knows what's going on, yet freaks out about EVERYTHING. So yeah, while I was pisssed off earlier and talking to my friend at work, we were like "Man I wish this place would just burn down," joking you know?
Then, about an hour later one of our reporters runs into the newsroom and was like "Umm, guys? I think our building is on fire" and we thought she was joking so we started laughing and then we hear "No really look, there is smoke coming down this hallway" so we all get up and look and sure enough, the bosses freak out, and my friend and I pack up our desks and called 911 and make an announcement on our intercom to evacuate the building.
It was down the hallways by the control room and engineering that was just a giant blanket of smoke, we couldn't even see down the hallway it was so thick. So it was pretty funny how we always joke about how much this place sucks and how it'd be awesome if it burned down...
So 6 fire trucks later and a lot of confused people and firemen they finally figured out where the smoke was coming from. Apparently an air conditioning motor stopped working and caught on fire, which explains why a majority of the smoke spreading was coming from the air ducts.
Now, things are back to normal, but only stinkier, at the station. I don't think there was too much damage at all, because most of the fire stayed in one area. I guess it just looked worse than it really was.
Man, sooooooo exciting tho, lol, it's not everyday that a station can end up reporting a story on it's own problem :)
(Oh and just as a side note, my friend and I had NOTHING to do with the fire)
