I know I know

It has been too long since I've written here. It's barely been a month, actually, but considering what has been happening, it feels a lot longer than that.

Though it wasn't for a lack of experiences but rather that I had gotten cold feet for a while about putting my thoughts and experiences, and in essence, my vulnerabilities out there for others to ( Read more... )

You may have to be a little more specific about the term 'overshadowing' and put it in context for me. I am just a humble scribe that passes on information from the ethereal realms the best I can.

On the light side there is the higher self, the oversoul, channeling, guides, guardians and the divine spark, etc., while on the dark side there is possession, astral beings who attach themselves, demons, psychic vampires, etc. If you mean any of that then yes I do have some knowledge of that. Above both the light and the dark though, anytime you do engage in these activities you should always have adequate protection and then of course do your qualifying. By qualifying I mean verifying your source whether invoking or evoking. Not to lend any thoughts of fear, it is just a routine guideline that you should practice for safety and harmony and is a generally accepted thing, sort of like a doorman of who gets to decide who goes into your club! :)

Is any of that what you are inquiring about? Let me know and I will do my best to answer all your questions! :D

A book by the medium, Gordon Brown (aka the psychic barber) sort of describes overshadowing as letting Spirit take over. Not as in possession, but he was describing doing readings. I understand part of what he means but the phrase is confusing.

Do you believe in demons, astral beings who attach themselves and in possession then? ie. have you seen people affected by these things?

Without a doubt these things exist. Some are good, some are bad, some are neutral. As for doing readings, there are many different variations on how it is accomplished. Some just go by gut instinct (some people describe this as all your memories of experience from all of your previous lives stored in your solar plexus region which then gives you prompts through physical sensations in that region) while other reading may be guided either internally or externally by any manner of entity. This can include all those things previously mentioned and on the very end of the scale you have possession. This is why it is important to ALWAYS qualify and protect yourself, otherwise you are like a motel with unlocked doors and a giant vacancy sign flashing in neon!

It is a privilege to incarnate here because it gives opportunity in the physical to play out very specific scenarios and allow for greater wisdom to elevate. Because of this sometimes an astral being will seek to attach themselves and sort of piggy back and influence the ride for its own benefit. The degree in which it will do this is varied of course and not all are malicious. There are teachers with coats of light and teachers with coats of darkness. Obviously there is free will involved and you have to make a choice of what you will and will not allow in. There was this one lady who was possessed by an astral and she knew she was possessed and the cost of it on her own self. However when met with the option of removing this entity she outright refused and got angry because she feared the loss of being 'special', of not having that voice telling her things (another point here is astrals do not have access to the akasha like angels do nor do they have permissions, so most of what comes through are just limited to their own amassed knowledge and what they can pass off as insight).

I can't say which method Gordon Brown employs as I don't really know much about him or seen him in action to tell. I don't know if he qualifies properly or just listens or lets go to whatever shows up. If it is his higher self or a qualified guide or angel that takes over then great, if not then his methods and answers are questionable at best because who knows what entity is really in control?

Thank you for your thoughts here. I'll have to get back to you on Gordon Brown's method, I know I read it in his book.

As for possessions and astral beings, there's so much information and variations of, out there, and not all of it in agreement either. I think it's just one of those things one has to decide on their own what is what. Maybe it seems a bit odd for someone who's had psychic experiences to be sceptical but I find it keeps me grounded too.
