I finally called an set up my first dr appointment as a pregnant mom for next Tuesday morning. I now feel completely overwhelmed. My first appoint is 2 hours and they told me that we will discuss "payment options" Great! just how much is this going to cost me? I knew I would have to pay some money to, but I have insurance! I also found out that my Dr appointments will be rotating doctors because only one is on call at a time and they want me to be familiar with all the drs. Nice idea, but I like MY dr and they aren't all women. So now I am freaking out a little. So instead of making my wishes on birth and vaccination plan to one dr. apparently now I have to fight with all the Drs.
If anyone has any idea of what I should know to tell them right off, or ask about right away PLEASE let me know. I am feeling panic right now. I don't know enough to know what I should ask. Ideally I guess I should type a list or a birth plan and bring it to all the Drs giving them each a copy and asking them to initial that they read it. I have this fear that their will be a fight over vaccination, and if anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with it upfront.
My concerns are 1. religious objection - most vaccines were developed from two aborted fetus' and I am a Christian and against abortion 2. the vaccination schedule - kids are getting all their vaccines within a short time period - that is a lot of mercury preservative 3. multiple vaccinations - 4 or 5 vaccinations all within a shot, that is a lot of little bits of disease and many children have died as a result of this 4. the "one size fits all" shots - they don't give differing amounts of vaccine to a 2 month old vs a two year old or a 6 year old!
So those are my concerns. Now I may after doing further research decide to allow certain vaccines that pass the 4 concerns I have. But I do not want to get any for the first 3 years at least. Not trying to convert anyone over to my way of thinking, just saying where I am at and that I just want my doctor to respect that. Honestly the money aspect - I am really worried about too. I guess I will just have to wait until Tuesday maybe it wont be as bad as I thought. And what is the deal with getting my medical history EVERY time I got to the Drs office? Don't you keep that info? Wouldn't that make patients trust you more? Wouldn't that make a patients life much easier? Aren't we past the computer age? Just a random rant.
PLEASE help me out moms! How much did your Dr bills cost you out of pocket? What should I know? What should I ask? New mom is clueless. THANKS!
