SGA fic rec
Ya'll know that I've been MIA for several months and just recently had time enough to dabble with fandom.
The last few days I've read a lot of fic that I've missed out on, some new and some old favorites. One of these fics has affected me deeply and I want all my fellow fangirls to read it and share my elation/misery. It's rinsbane's wonderful/desperate/bittersweet/mindblowing/dark/hopeful/heart-breaking Kashmir.
I read this fic through two times before I felt like I could comment. It broke my brain a little. These boys are just so beautifully fucked up. Read it even if you think it will hit your squick button. It's scorchingly hot, but the story is so far beyond the sex that - well, it really brought back to me why I love SGA and McShep so much. And it also reminded me that our fandom has the most talented writers out there.
ETA the best thing about taking a real-life necessitated break from fandom is coming back to find new stories by all your fav writers and discovering new writers to add to your must-read list. It really helps soften the blow over the cancellation of SGA which I have purposefully tried to ignore.
