Well, as it's a poem, and I want another chance to brag that I am the Poet Laureate for my town for 16-20 year olds (give me a break, it's like the only good thing I've ever had, I should be allowed to boast a little) I shall complete this one.
Drinking cups of tea,
Surveys for the Government,
"Thank you for your time."
That pretty much sums up my day. In case you were wondering, my job is at a call centre. Joy of joys. I'm doing a survey for the Gov about energy efficiency and informing all the lovely public that there are many grants available to top up their loft insulation. Hardly the best job in the world, but the pay's alright and my boss is officially the nicest woman I have ever met.
She is lovely. Every day, she brings me about eight cups of tea, and last week she made me a fruit salad because I was working the morning shift and she said I looked hungry. She also gave me a plate of biscuits to keep my blood sugar up when I'd mentioned I was tired, and she gives me vegetables that she grows in her garden! I want her to be my mum!
Oh, and another thing I did today - there's a new Indian sweet shop opened up, and I bought a box of sweets to remind me of my childhood. When I was about three, we lived in Oxford, and there was an Indian sweet shop just down the road. We would buy a box every Friday, and whilst I am aware that today is Wednesday, I still thought I should jump on the chance.
Right, now I'm off to kick ass and take names on Warcraft 3 - no WoW for me; I'm oldskool.
writer's block,
why yes i am poet laureate,
oh god employment
