RPG List and a new Kitten! :D

So I ended up with a "free" kitten a few days ago. I say "free" because we had to take her to the vet to get shots and to have a bath. She was covered in fleas, it was really gross.. Sure our cats have a few, we ARE surrounded by fields. So its not unexpected, but you could SEE them crawling all over her. Ugh. D: So our "free" kitten ended up ( Read more... )

Ew, spiders. I'd much rather have fleas than spiders, thank you very much. Preferably none of the above. ;D

Now that you mentioned the first 3 Dragon Quest games, you'll have to tell me which console you played those on haha. I've only beaten the first one. The fourth one, I got to the last boss then got the dreaded curse sound and the "One of the save files on here have been corrupted!" message when turning on the game, which magically happened to be my file. They're most likely going to be different; at least for the 4th, since the 4th was an NES game and the other 2 were SNES.

Yes Star Ocean 2 lets you choose, unless they decide to change it for some reason. I don't know the difference between choosing either, other than a different start area before the 2 meet. I only got a few hours into the game; the time that I played it was the time my PS1 started breaking down.

Breath of Fire 1 is hopeless for me; more than once have I gotten far in the game (like I got the up to the 7th or 8th character... is that Bleu and the mole dude?) and had to quit for various reasons: getting stuck or returning the game to my friend.

Breath of Fire 2: I've never gotten far in this one (I remember getting Sten and Rand?), but I do like the art in this game among 1-3. I think Nina being super hot has some super influence on that decision. xDDDD;;;

Breath of Fire 3 is the only game I own for the PS1, and the only one I've beaten. I've wanted to try the other 2, but somehow never got around to it.

I had Dragon Quest 1 - 3 on the game boy.. color? o_o; I know I played them on a GBC but I cant remember if they were normal GB games or GBC.. I never beat them though, I should have added Dragon Quest 3 to the list though, I remember playing as a girl in that one. Maybe I'll rebuy it so I can beat it. X3

They probably wont change the game to much (in SO2) I mean.. the remake of FF4 is the same except for like.. the translation and graphics. o.o

I beat BoF1 once.. I actually have forgotten how it ended too.. I do remember likeing Blue though. I have gotten both endings in BoF2 though. I liked the "bad" ending best, even if it did mean you failed to save the world completely.

I'm stuck in BoF3, at the well minigame. I read an FAQ on it but I'm so. bad at it. And the fact that the ship minigame? is coming up next made me not wanna finish, since I'm bad at driving the ship. ._.;

Ehh. Oh have you ever played Shining Force for... I dunno what system. I just ordered a copy of the GBA version that I just found out existed. I'm not sure how I missed it.. I was really into my RPGs in '04. :/

As for minigames, I played BoF3 in high school (1996-2000) so I don't really remember much about minigames. I don't think there were any that gave you significantly good items, as the only game I remember was fishing.

Yes, I've played the (old) Shining Force games. The first one I've played on genesis emulator, but later beat it on GBA; it was only... average.

The second was on genesis (emulator) and is by far my favorite; I never beat it however... I got towards the last few stages until the witch in the intro told me my save file got corrupted =(. I think they might be porting it to the Wii Virtual Console. (According to wiki anyways.)

The third one I played a little at a friends house. Only the first of three scenarios for Shining Force 3 was released in the US, and I never had another chance to play it, as it was only on the Saturn.

They have a bunch of other Shining Forces for the PS2, but I've never played them; Rissy has some of them though.

I have 2 for the PS2, Shining Tears and Shining Force Exa.. Tears has beautiful artwork for its characters, but it makes up for bad enemy AI by over loadin the map with eneimies which causes teh game to lag. :/ Shining Force Exa is okay, it has really nice character grahpics and every armor peice changes your appearence. (for both heros. :3) I havent beat it yet though, got bored. x3

I don't mind average games, not all games can be outstanding.

I just ordered the GBA Shining Force the other day, I'm actually vagualy looking forward to it since I've been bored of my consol games. I also ended up buying Dragon Warrior 3 too since I never beat that.

I was at EB yesterday and picked up Sword of Mana, which I realized I'd played before but never beat. I also got a shooter RPG called Sigma Star. Both were 7 dollars, so I figured it'd be okay even if they were bad. I haven't started Sigma Star yet, but it has cute character art for the girls.

I also found out in Sword of Mana there are "classes" XD; I got like 12 hours into it the first time but never changed class cause my stat level ups were to.. random?

Ehh anyway. Are you gonna try any of the Dragon Quest games if any of your cousins have a DS? :o 4 comes out in September.

Sword of Mana is a remake of the original Seiken Densetsu (known in the US as Final Fantasy Adventures) for the regular Gameboy. The original didn't have classes... I don't remember if the "classes" make any difference the game. I remember trying to make one warrior class and one magician class, but I got bored halfway through.

My brother has a DS, but I don't think I'm gonna try it anytime soon. Though I'd like to see how 4 turned out. It's one of my favorite NES rpgs. Back in those days RPGs weren't known for having much of a plot; this has a decent one among the rest of the NES rpgs out there.

Really? XD Oh wow I remember trying final fantasy adventures ages back at a friends house before I ended up with a game boy color. I was thinking of hunting it down too. Guess I don't need to now though.

Well I'll be getting 4, so if I like it I'll make sure to say so. I think it'll be good, it got good reviews in Japan.. but then again they love anything related to dragon quest. o_o;
