Wednesday's Word #1 -- WINSOME

Each Wednesday I will post a new vocabulary word. Today's word is WINSOME.

No, I'm sorry it doesn't mean you win anything, except you may win over someone's heart. Winsome means charming, delightful, pleasing, often in a childlike or innocent manner.

Winsome is an adjective. That means it is a word used to describe a person, place, or thing. Words that name a person, place, or thing are called nouns.

Here are some sentences using the word winsome.

I cannot resist that puppy with the winsome blue eyes.
It's hard to stay mad at my little brother when he looks at me with his winsome smile.
The little children sat still to listen to the winsome story.

Now it's your turn to write three sentences with the word winsome.

Challenge: Look up winsomely (adverb) and winsomeness (noun). Write a sentence with each word.
