well, i am (temporarily, i am sure) foster-less again. Millie the Meyer's went home with her new family yesterday. i will still stay in touch with this cutie, as the adoptive family is on
my board, and they will post pics and updates.
Millie seemed to understand what was happening, and even blew me kisses as we watched her family load her cage into their car. i hope that i can bird sit for her one day- she is such a sweetie, and will be missed. my flock was subdued at dinner last nite after she had left. i always wonder what they think about this process.
earlier this year, my foster Ruby (the Green Cheek Conure) made her way to her new adoptive home in AZ as well. two adoptions out of my house, as well as the Budgies that were being fostered in Oakley were adopted this year. 4 birds finding new homes, and Feb isn't even over yet! woo! once i get the non-profit status (imminently!), i'll really be rocking and rolling, as i can list the birds on petfinder as well. craigslist attracts the wrong sort of people i have found, so i will stick to avian vets, the forum, and petfinder i think. as well as a website.
the only two birds still looking for a final destination are Amazons- a red head (Perry) and a Yellow Nape (Biff). they are in foster care elsewhere.
