I've heard pretty much you get paid $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to dick around at a university, and the professors generally don't have time to make sure you're working all that hard?

And one of my profs has lots of contacts in Osaka and wouldn't mind if I went and recorded some natural speech data for him, as the recordings he has are all from the 80's/early 90's.
