hd_holidays has just posted
the big reveal. I'd like to give a big round of applause to
jamie2109 and
nqdonne for organizing the fantastic fest. I'm looking forward to participating in the next round (if it's okay, that is).
My offering this year is for
klarsfeld, titled Once Burned, which probably has made me the most unpopular gift-exchange participant in fandom.

My favorite details: I love the way you conveyed the feel of party chitchat in the first panel. And then the hand with the wedding ring - knowing that it belongs to Harry and that he belongs to someone else - the starkness of the black and white underscores this feeling. I love it.
I also love Harry's profile when he looks up at the sound of a door, and Draco's face when who he sees who's there (his eyes speak volumes! they're heartbreaking). Harry's expression at seeing the look on Draco's face is just pure sheepishness and guilt (perfect!). Just from the exchange of expressions in these two panels, you just *know* how deeply Harry must have hurt Draco.
But the panels that truly break my heart are the ones that just show us Draco's back. He looks so vulnerable! The way his hair falls against the back of his neck and contrasts with the black of his sweater. I can't explain why, exactly, but those panels choke me up every time I look at them.
And then finally, after Draco leaves, the way Harry's eyes lose their fake cheerfulness and then close in obvious weariness and regret. Perfect!
As you can probably guess, I don't mind the ending at all. It worked perfectly, and I agree with your commentary that forcing a happy ending wouldn't feel right. That said, however, I will anxiously await the promised sequel. Because as much as I love angst, I really do love a (believable!) happy ending even more :)

Glad that you liked the wedding ring - that panel broke my heart, even though it's the most logical to me, seeing Harry wearing the wedding ring. *sobs*
The comic in from Harry's POV, and thus I tried to be very explicit when doing Harry's expression, whereas Draco's was sort of masked. I'm happy to know that both worked out well. I put a bit of white-out to highlight Draco's hair on his neck, which I don't do often (because I'm lazy) unless the character is some blond, handsome, magical boy whom I love too much.
I quite like Harry's weary look in the last panels as well, and I'm content to end the story there.
Thank you ♥ I'm truly happy to hear that you don't mind the hopelessly sad, unresolved ending. The sequel will come out, no matter what happens in DH (which we will soon know, won't we? *is scared*)
