Blue has found a new home! His new owners are coming to pick him up on Friday morning. They are super nice folks and don't live too far from here. They even said we could come and ride him there if we want to. Wow. How perfect is that?
Jelli the Paca mama passed away.
Baby Tara is doing great, taking her bottles like a champ. Her incredible fast weight gain has leveled out to just maintaining so we're going to increase what is offered to her a bit more. We are using lamb milk replacer which is a whole lot less expensive than the alpaca milk powder from Australia. Grandma Ziza and Auntie Galadriel pacas are looking after the baby from a herd perspective. The whole crowd gathers up at the gate when we take the baby in the barn to weigh her so she has plenty of love and company.
She is also eating hay already (good and normal) and we've got some high nutrition pellet food on order to pick up next week so she'll start on that. Bottle feeding should only go another six or eight weeks.
Still no sign of the other two babies that are due. (the sound of impatiently tapping fingers and toes...)
