Saw a couple of kids movies with the kids while we were in Chicago.
_Eragon_
Trite, boring, rushed. To be honest, I didn't like the book either. Don't think I was even able to finish it. The young actors were lovely to look at, the dragon was pretty cool, otherwise is was pretty awful. Jeremy Irons character was killed off much too early. John Malkovich wasn't given anything to work with. Even my 8 year old nephew Andrew panned the movie on the walk home.
_Night at the Museum_
We all laughed out loud more than once during the movie. I normally don't like Ben Stiller, but see this movie anyway. It is mostly clever and fun and not too predictable, at least not until the very end. Robin Williams is charismatic as Teddy Roosevelt and the general chaos of colorful museum characters is great fun to watch.
Step #1 - Throw the Bone.
Step #2 - Lock up the Lions because they will eat you.
I wish they had played with the list longer, it had such possibilities.
