so as everyone knows, last night was the big shebang at elliot's house. at jds we rarely have parties like that, so its nice that we have katie and jeneve to crash in someone else's house and throw us a party. the party was so fun. its so nice to be able to see our grade outside of a stressful, competitive atmosphere, and just be able to chill with all of them. sometimes the people in our grade really bother because at school, theyre mind is always in the books, and they never come up for air. but at parties like the one at elliot's, we are able to see each other without worrying about how well someone did on a math test, or long their english essay was. it was truely relaxing, and after last week, i really needed that.
so the actual party:
well, preparty was a dinner at mongolian bbq for carrie's birthday. me and shelley tried to make a cake, but that didnt work, but the dinner was still fun. then it was off to elliot's. watched some poker, danced like crazy in elliot's "sound proof room", ate a lot (michael g. and i are fatasses..), watched some movies, yelled at goott for being loud, slept a little. i got to sleep aroun 4:45 and then woke up at 8:45. it turned out that i wasn't all that tired today, which was really nice.
the reason that it was really nice is because i went to the pentagon with about 20 other ppl from our grade to get a personal tour of the building from doug (mr. feith..the undersecretary of defense for policy). it was so cool to walk around that building, and the little pre-tour/info session david (feith), nikki, rachel e. and i had was fun. trying to get into the river parking lot was so funny. i've never actually heard doug/mr. feith introduce himself as the undersecretary, it was cool. then he had a little trouble getting into the parking lot, until he realized that he can call himself in or something. it took a while, but we were finally cleared. then we met up wtih the rest of the group and enjoyed an awesome tour of the building. the building is like 4 million square feet or something, but since it is designed so well, you can get to any place in the building in under 10 minutes. the whole ring thing is also really cool.
the two coolest parts of the tour: 1) standing in rumsfeld's personal bathroom reading the cartoons he has on the wall with about 10 other ppl. 2) going into some tele-something room (clearly can't remember the name) where the president meets with the defense department (and has people on satellite-type tv if they can't be there). jacob marder sat where president bush sits in the meetings. it was really cool.
the whole day was awesome. so thank you to the feith family.
and its 9:10 and i still haven't started my hw, so i'm gonna go. goodbye.
