Stress

Past few months have been weird. Although that is to be expected.

Ok, most importantly, I quit Herman's. Anyone who's read my journal can obviously tell that I hated it there. I didn't hate the place itself, nor the ice cream, and certainly not the pay. But my morals, self-esteem, and common sense told me to get away from there as soon as I got the chance. And that chance came on a busy, hectic day.

On June 14th I had to wake up at 6AM to take my Mom to her hospital to get a colonoscopy done (I can't wait til I'm 50!). Apparently they knock you out with some pretty powerful stuff and you have to have someone drive you and take care of you. So I took the day off from the dreaded Herman's.

After I got my Mom home safe and sound I siezed the opportunity of my day off and did some laundry and ran errands. One of my errands being going to Edgewater to straighten out my transcript situation. On my way there I saw that the Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins that I had been waiting to open for what seemed like a year was hiring. I immediately stopped in after Edgewater, filled out an application answered a couple of questions and was told I had a job there. I left with butterflies in my stomach.

I got in my car to go quit Herman's and then realized: What if I don't make as much there as I do at Herman's? I do have bills to pay no matter how much I want away from there. So I called my Mom and asked her advice. She told me to turn around and go ask them about what hours and what pay I would be getting to see if I could indeed, rid myself of Herman's.

I went back and the manager said he was glad I came back to talk about it cause he meant to say something. I figured if I could get the hours he said I could get, I should make more or the same as Herman's and therefore be ok for income.

Excited I had found enthusiasm and found the balls to quit Herman's with only 2 days notice! My last day was spent with the only person I would seriously consider hanging out with outside of work. He's one of the nicest, sweetest guys I've ever met. Petey your better than that place. He's a huge fan of Weezer so I made him a b-sides album, complete with a jewel case and weezer photos decorating it.

That same crazy day I quit I also completed my application and CPT for Valencia Community College and will be attending in the fall. My orientation is on Thursday.

I'm actually dreading this week a lot. This week the Dunkin/Baskins opens, fucking Spiderman 2 opens, I have orientation, and all of my bills come. This month will be especially difficult for bills because of my change in jobs. I should be ok, but I might need to borrow from a couple of people. I made an impulse buy today, but am too thoroughly pleased with it to feel guilty...yet. I am optimistic, yet hesitant. But I'm sure everything will be ok.
