Caller: This is Janet calling from Smith College.
Me: Hi Janet. Are you about to ask me for money?
Janet: Um, I also wanted to check your contact information, but yes, I was going to ask you for money.
Me: I don't have any to give to Smith right now.
Janet: That's ok. Can I still check your contact information?
Me: Sure.

Janet: Thanks! You know even a $5 donation would be great.
Me: I'm sorry, but right now all the money I have to spare is going to humanitarian relief charities.
Janet: Oh. Well I'm sure that's a good thing right now.
Me: I think so, and I really hope that other people are making the same decision in their giving right now.
Janet: I'm probably not supposed to say this, but I think that's a good idea.
Me: Yeah, I know Smith needs money, but right now Haiti needs it more.
