I'm so frustrated I'm about to cry.
The Evil Hag who replaced our reception coordinator has now been replaced by Number Three. I had high hopes for Number Three - I don't give a shit what she's like in person as long as she gets the job done.
We just got an email from her saying that she'd be in touch with us on Monday to see what information she needed. MONDAY?!? The wedding is next Saturday. I'd really like to have more than a week to work with. Also, I have no idea how many of the Evil Hag's notes she has. Does she know what meal we'll be serving? How we want the room set up? What color napkins to use? Anything? All we got was "I'll contact you on Monday."
All I want is for someone to say "Yes, your wedding is important, and I will do my job and make sure that it goes smoothly." I don't think that's asking a whole lot.
On a positive note...
Positive note? Well, my ankle doesn't hurt any worse than it did last time I posted.
We got the rehearsal dinner figured out - pick up platters of yummy Lebanese food and eat at the church. The church, which has recently upped its prices on everything, decided to charge us an arm and a leg for the use of a room in the basement. My mom said she'd pay it, since she's doing the whole dinner thing. And then the church told me that I still owed them X amount for the ceremony and I sent a check. Today I found out that X amount included that one over-priced room. Son of a bitch. It shouldn't really matter, but that was the ONE thing that someone other than Kristen and me were paying for. And my check has already been cashed. That's just swell...
(Suddenly I don't feel so bad about never having any spare cash on me on Sunday. As Kristen put it...I mean, they're Unitarians, for crying out loud. You'd think they'd be all about empowering poor people! Especially poor gay people!)
Ok, a real positive note:
My fuckup darling brother, who failed at planning a bachelorette party, has managed to actually organize something for after the reception! I have no idea what, but apparently he's been in contact with the bar across the street about setting up a private party room! Yay!
