Having managed to resist Facebook entirely, I'm giving Diaspora a try. If you're there, you can find me by name. There's talk of invitations, but when I went to the homepage, there was a no-invitation needed link. If that doesn't work for you, let me know.

I have an account too. So far, I haven't been able to do anything with it, including adding any friends. And it's crashed twice since I've been on it tonight too. So I'm not really sure what it's supposed to be good for. But I figured I'd set it up just in case.

Thanks. It's occasionally tempting, but then I read an advice column, or hear about a friend's latest drama with their FB-reading family, or read that FB was cited in 15% of divorce proceedings last year, or see another article about privacy violations...and somehow it becomes much less tempting.
