Apparently audioboy doesn't eat Brussels sprouts, due to trauma inflicted by a vegetable boiler in his childhood. So as B. was stirring the sprouts for me, she described them to N. as "greens". And here I thought I came up with the lemon, bacon, garlic, brussel sprout variation on my own! LOL. When I did this, I sliced the brussel sprouts thinly (think mini-coleslaw:)) and fried it all in a big pan. We liked it. Thyme seems like a nice addition.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I did it. The recipe had me throw in 1/4 cup of water with the sprouts, cover and simmer for 5 minutes, then uncover and cook 5-10 min. more.

Heck, just adding lemon and butter makes a big difference with the sprouts. I think it balances out the bitterness somehow...
