Wednesday was a fantastic day for those of us who are keen admirers of
Richard Armitage's artistry. The
first official trailer of "The Hobbit" was released and not only does he feature prominently in the clip, he SINGS! Even though we all knew of his musical talent as a cello and flute performer and enjoyed his amazing vocal talent thanks to his marvellous collection of audiobooks, we had never had the chance to hear him sing for real (unless you count that little tune for Clarissa). And, no surprise, he does it famously.
I've ripped the audio of the trailer and made a cut of the song featuring Richard and the rest of the dwarves. There are two mp3 versions. The first one runs from the moment Gandalf opens the door to Bilbo to the end of the scene where Thorin talks to Gandalf. The second one begins with Richard's solo and finishes right before he speaks to Gandalf.
