Eeeee! Thanks for the good wishes with the flat/apartment/whatever :) And thanks for the good luck wishes too ::crosses fingers:: Yes. This. It's hard to do sometimes, but really it's the best way to think about it. It *is* hard - but it's worse to have regrets and negative headspaces, isn't it? Just gotta keep truckin'. I wonder how many of those artists would consider themselves punk? It could be because we've seen it all before and we're less repressed... Yes, very good point. I hadn't really thought about that - probably because I'm *so* indoctrinated with (what would have been perceived in the 70s as) shock images from films and advertising and tv programmes that I didn't think further. But that was really the heyday of performance art. It's not done so much these days - Yes, good point. I mean, I suppose you have someone like Christo who's more into wrapping things up, than exposing them. Or there are different levels of shock - like Tracy Emin's bed, or a display of anti-war posters on display in the Tate Britain. Or you have someone like Laurie Anderson who's got older and wiser... Yay thinky thoughts! Also very appropriate icon ;)
