Harry Potter Tropes my favorites and not-so-favorites
I'm still a major Harry Potter fanfic fan and with it comes the tropes:
Favorites:
1. Slytherin!Harry (just don't make it an automatic Draco/Harry there are many more students in Harry's year)
2. Mpreg (only if its well done and, believe me, there aren't that many)
3. Severus!Lives (okay this is a major weakness of mine and I'd love to see more fics out there exploring how and what Severus does with his life after the war)
4. Girl!Harry (There are only two that I have ever read that rate an A plus in my book but I keep hoping for better quality to surface)
Non-Favorites:
1. NO EPILOGUE COMPLIANT FICS (Seriously Rowling what were you thinking?)
2. Time Travel Fics (I have a particularly strong squick with Harry retaining his adult mind coming back as a child physically *shudder*) However to be fair there is one great time travel fic featuring a Harry/Voldemort pairing (but they are both in fifth year) that is excellent. Don't think it was ever finished though).
3. OOC Snape (whenever I see that warning I run a thousand miles away. There a number of excellent fics that capture Snapes voice wonderfully but a lot that run off the rails and I think "who is this, not Snape for sure."
