TRUE STORY
So, I face our 4 story parking garage, and we have these vultures that like to land on it and play King of the Mountain--one would land on the elevator building on the roof, and others would perch on the corners of the garage. Well, until earlier this spring. When a mockingbird decided to build its nest in the elevator building.
One thing you should know about the mockingbird. It is very, very territorial.
Over the next few weeks I watched this
small bird chase off two enormous
vultures.
Just now I saw two vultures--maybe the same ones!--sulking on a corner of the garage. Sulking. Complete with rounds of staring at the elevator building and then turning their backs, repeatedly.
I swear, it's like watching high schoolers.
Heading out to San Francisco and KublaCon tomorrow. At least it will be a break from upper 90's....
