I'm sitting there, minding my ER desk, going about my business, when a somewhat familiar, stately, smartly dressed woman walks through my ER doors (mind you, I've never met this woman, but I've spent enough time seeing her her photograph on the "list of notable faces" bulletin board next to the cafeteria for the past 6 years to know who she is). She marches up to my desk and flashes her ID badge at me while saying, "Suzette Jones, VP of Inpatient Services."
In that moment, fortunately, I was too busy concentrating on not falling out of my chair to speak, because the ONLY POSSIBLE response that I could have come up with was "Yes, I know who you are."
