Shove it up your ass, student teacher handbook

If you are thinking....

How can I keep the students quiet? [damnit, sometimes you just want them to SHUT UP]
What should I do today? [i know they are saying that you should have long-term planning, but still, thinking "what should i do today"  does not necessarily mean your lesson will suck that day]
What can I use from the teacher's edition?  [ thats what the teacher's editions are for, you bastards.  we're teachers, not curriculum writers]
How can I get through this period?
What can I use for busywork? [ok, thats legitimate]
Should I show a movie this period?  [nothing wrong with a movie now and then, especially in social studies. ]

...You are not creating lessons for learning!

If you are creating lessons such as....

Read Chapter 2 quietly  [reading isn't always bad, you know]
Complete this worksheet  [again, just cause its a worksheet doesn't mean it sucks.  worksheets can rock.  and be conducive to student  participation]
Do the problems on page 65 [thats what page 65 is there for!]
Write paragraph on___  [um, you're telling me i shouldn't ask my students to write? writing is participating.]

....You are not teaching and planning for student participation!
