(no subject)

I have various serious things I want to write about, and also, serious things I want to write to people I've been thinking of tenderly. (If you think this means you, and your LJ initials are TFG, you're probably right.) But for some reason my interior world is noisily preoccupied with trivial stuff.

Like, when I try to turn my mind to writing something real, I start to get emotional. And then my brain coughs up a bunch of trivial shallow sparkly pretty things and I seem like a 12 year old even to myself (beads!unicorns!rainbows!gum!). It's very random, annoying and distracting. I guess it's a kind of involuntary escapism from being emotional or thoughtful that my brain is providing for me, whether I like it or not. I don't like it, actually.

Anyway. What else is new... I've been sick for a week, with not one but TWO wholly different viruses, back to back! Waaah. A little better today. It's weird to re-emerge into the world. I've been mostly asleep for a whole week. Everything in the real world, i.e., not my bed, seems very loud and fast.

You know, I still haven't done anything on my To Do list from before Dec. 19. I am frozen in time right at the moment when I finally mailed off all the customers' packages that were conceivably going to make it there by Christmas. It's like my brain said, that's it, okay, over, time out, you're done...and then it gave up entirely. Which I understand. But you know, it really needs to start up again.

Hey brain? Hello?

[ unicorns! ]

Who said that?

Also: still no date given (just "coming soon") on the premiere in my city of Brokeback Mountain. And hey Dave, I didn't EVEN READ your review. Tell it to the hand! Ang Lee rulz and George Lucas sukz. [Acutally I'm just avoiding all reviews until after I see it.]

Also: My husband is cute.

Also: I applied for a job with the IRS, because I could work at night when the store is closed.

In 2006 I intend to get out of debt, then take an actual vacation. Or at least make serious strides in that direction. At least that big sale this morning paid my overdue insurance bill, or most of it.

work, movies, health, randomness, travel
