(no subject)
After a weekend full of adventure (waterskiing, inner-tubing, kayaking and beers, etc.) I'm back at work. Blah!
But first...a SURPRISE party...shhhhhhhhh!!
Adam and I are throwing a surprise party for Abraham tonight since he will be starting his new job tomorrow.
It's surprising how fast he found a job. It only took a couple of days.
It made me start thinking about maybe finding a new job. It seems like all my friends are having a pretty easy time finding new jobs.
Abe did make a few good points. One being that I am planning on going back to grad school next year and the other that I am getting ready for my Professional Engineering Exam. I might as well stay here since the next couple of years will be busy. Plus, I'm getting paid real WELL here! Well, according to Abe I'm getting paid pretty well and I get overtime to boot!!
Anyway, the theme for the party is construction workers since Abe will be saying GOOD-BYE to construction and will be stepping into the world of design and consulting! I got Louise to steal Abe's work vest for me on Fri when I showed up on site for the last time! :( Abe was bummed because he thought he lost is work vest and he's kept all his work vests from all his projects. Anyway, I plan on wearing that vest, cut off jean shorts, Abe's tool belt, and my hard hat. Adam is working on changing the name tag on Abe's vest to something slutty I'm sure. Adam's costume is is a mix of white trash and construction...let's just say he had me cut wig into a mullet.
This shall be interesting!!
We have a keg, but we're thinking of holding off till the weekend on the keg since we don't want Abe to be hung over on his first day...that would not be good!
