shoulder injury, another deployed friend, new coat

The orthopedist says it looks like I pinched a tendon in my shoulder (tendinitis) and put me on over-the-counter anti-inflammatories. If it doesn't feel better in a while I'll get a cortisone shot. In the meantime I can't do much with it. No derby :'( At least it's the holiday season and we have time off from attendance. I need to keep skating and doing crunches or all this holiday food is going to get the best of me. Ugh, but I hate it when I feel worse after going to the doctor. He pushed, pulled and prodded :(

My ex-husband Paul was deployed to Afghanistan! I'm going to visit his wife and take the baby some xmas prezzies. I want him to tell me what he's doing there. He's a corpsman and has been a desk jockey at Bethesda Naval Hospital for a long time. He was happy when they stationed him on a destroyer. I bet he's thrilled to be where the action is, probably feels like he's accomplishing something. I hope they put him to use saving people's lives, not answering phones. *update* - He says he's being a corpsman, and the worst he has had to deal with was dehydration. Luckily.

Some good news.. my new Half-Moon coat (from Ren Fest) came in the mail today.
