Books and Video Games

I'll start with books. I've got about 100 pages left in Twilight, so I hope to finish that up over the extended weekend. I have New Moon, but I'm thinking about waiting to start it until after I've seen the movie. I'm liking the first book about as much as I liked the movie, so I think this is a good indicator that it's better to continue seeing the movie before reading the book. I also plan on rewatching the movie after I finish the book to kind of round out my experience.

Lego Batman:
I have completed all of the regular levels in story mode for both heroes and villains. I'm at just under 75% completed, so I'm going back through free play to find all of the hidden items and whatnot. This will be a pretty long process, so I'll be doing it slowly while I focus on other games. There are also two other levels to unlock, so I'll be getting to those eventually as well. I did manage to get the Super Villain rating in all of my villain levels on the first try, but need to get the Super Hero rating in three more hero levels.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance:
I had and beat this game on PS2 back when it came out, but I found out that having a completed save file unlocks something special in the sequel coming out this fall (at least in the PS3 and 360 version...so I'm hoping the Wii version will as well). So I bought this for Wii for $20 and will be trying to fly through it this weekend. As it stands, I've gotten through the intro level and the first act. The Wii controls were a little bit difficult to get the hang of, but I'm doing better with it. I will soon have invites to the VIP section of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 website if anyone is interested in one.

Animal Crossing: City Folk:
I still play this almost every day. There are a few fish and insects that I need to try to find from June still. Luckily, they're still available. I do have all of the butterflies now (some of those were tough to find). I think the beetles are going to be the hardest, but they're finally starting to show up for me. Something special is supposed to be released for DLC today. I'm kind of worried I won't get it, though, because I never got the ladder shades from June.

Pokemon Platinum:
I now have 100 rare candies so that I can check IVs and start EV training. I still need some EV training items first, though. I'm also at 4 stars on my trainer card. :D

Treasure World:
This game came out on June 30 and just arrived from UPS today (and the UPS guy was a creeper...looking in my windows through my closed blinds). Basically, this game is just one big OCD collection fest. You get items by having your DS detect unique wi-fi signals. This means that I'll be doing a lot of walking around town this summer! I've managed to find roughly 50 wi-fi signals so far. I also found that there's one special signal to detect every hour, so I'm keeping my DSi running for 24 hours to catch that (and anything special that might be released for the 4th). The only problem is that I'm worried that I might run out of wi-fi signals in this town without completing the game. I guess that's what trips to Eau Claire, MN, and visits home are for. ;)

There's also an official online community for the game, where you can sync the game with your profile to show your progress. You can also meet and trade with other people that are playing, unlock things on the site with keys you find in the game, and even win real things like a Gamestop gift card!
