Winter Break So Far...

Dec 20, 2007 11:48

Wow! This winter break is so much more different than all the winter breaks in the past...

Dec 15: We celebrated Nathalie's (my cousin) birthday early because both my family and her family will be gone from Christmas night to Jan 6th on vacation to Viet Nam and her birthday will be occurring during that time.  I missed out on eating dinner with them because Cliff and I ate a very late lunch at Claim Jumper.  However, we did catch the movie with them.  We watched "Enchanted".  I ADORE THIS MOVIE.

Dec 16: Cliff and I met up with Sally at the Brea mall for some fun shopping.  I've never been to this mall before.  It was sooooo packed.  Also, I never knew Forever 21 had a separate store for accessories called For Love 21.  I would advise you guys to shop quickly in that store because it's so crowded in such a small space... and there's way too many lights which emits a lot of heat.  Stuffy and hot is not a very lovely environment.  I finally get to shop at Charlotte Russe (Sally always tells me about this store).  Their jeans are nice and I like the washes they have.  I picked up two pair of jeans and a dress (that's not too fancy and not too casual... I think)  I picked up a needed hoodie at Forever 21 as well.  It was so strange waiting in the line there because there were these two tall white guys waiting behind us and they were talking about beating the crap out of other guys, how they hate so and so, how they could have ripped this guy's jaw out but decided not to because he doesn't want to "be like that", and how one of the guy's cousin was in jail for stabbing another guy and hopefully he'll go on parole soon.  Like... W-T-F right?

Dec 17: I drove up to Cal State Long Beach all by myself to visit the wonderful Sophia.  We had lunch and an art day planned out.  We ate chicken katsus at L&L and as we pulled into the plaza I asked Sophia: "They opened a Yogurtland here?" and Sophia was like totally WTF and excited like no other haha.  When we got back to her dorm, she taught me her craft that she was go do with the youth group.  It's a really cute stocking craft!  After we completed our stockings of awesomeness, I pulled out all the card supplies and we began making Christmas cards for friends.  It was so nice to catch up with her and also do art related activities with my best friend.  This is what I made:

Dec 18: Cliff called me and told me he was staying home sick. And so after I came home from the doctors for an overdue check up, I drove over and cooked him chicken noodle soup and babied him =_=  We finished watching the other half of the most recent Pushing Daisies episode.  And then a good 15 minutes before I left to go home, we all just sat there listening to the soundtrack of Enchanted and watching our favorite scenes off of a ripped version.  When we were listening to the soundtrack, Sierra was trying to sing them super loud and she didn't really know the lyrics and it was just hilarious how she was dancing.  I went home and then remembered that I and the boys were supposed to go to dinner to celebrate winter break.  So I called up Nick to see if we're still up for it and of course we are.  It was POURING.  We all arrived at Macaroni Grill and had a nice time.  The food there is always good and being able to draw on the paper table cloths is always great fun.  Afterwards, we headed over to Cliff's to have our "band practice" on Rock Band.  We played for like 3 hours... and then we finally all went home.

Dec 19: So I'm still overly obsessed with "Enchanted" and I can't wait to see it again... and when the DVD comes out... again and again... Anyways, so David and I went to our I guess favorite Chinese restaurant? We always get hot and sour soup, orange chicken, fried rice and the veggie egg roll (they make it really good).  Then I started to work on Matt's drawing that I owe him... it's him as the Grinch.  I'm almost done with it.  So I constantly replay the song "So Close" by Jon McLaughlin, which plays during the ballroom scene of "Enchanted" and it makes me SIIIGGGGGHHHHHHH and AWWWWWWWWWWW like a mad woman.

I love this scene so much... and when Patrick Dempsey starts singing to Amy Adams it's like HEART MELT EXPLOSION.  Peck was on Jeopardy and she totally kicked major ass.  I was rooting her on all the way! I hope she continues to win and be the next Jennings who won 2 mil+ hehe.

Today I'm going to watch Peck play her second round in Jeopardy and hopefully finish all of my Christmas cards so I can send them out tomorrow before Christmas hits and etc etc.  Also, today so far I am fairly in supreme happiness and relief.  I'm glad all my hard work during the quarter did not go to waste.  I'm extremely happy about my grades and the only one that I haven't received back yet is for Ochem Lab.  I hope everyone is having a great Winter Break and holiday season.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The End
