3 steps forward in development

This journal is all about telling you about Melody and her way towards becoming a true Lady of the Sith (evil smirk at Frank). Here I'll tell you about 3 recent, more or less important steps on her road of life:

Friday, June 2nd: This is a real and important step forward. For the first time, she turned over from stomach to back. She has been able to turn over for a while, but she had to take it one step at a time, i.e. from stomach to side and then from side to back after a while, but this time, she turned directly from stomach to back. This happened when she was 5 weeks and 6 days old.

Saturday, June 3rd: First, the not so important step (but still a step!). Frank brought her to her first ever visit to McDonald's. She was asleep in her baby carriage the whole time, but still... I'd say that's an important step in her development to become a true American citizen, right? *lol*

Later on in the evening, she took another, more important step forward. We have two different baby gyms - you know, those things that have lots of activities on them that the baby can reach up and play with when she's lying on the floor. One of them has been out on the floor for a week or so already and she's been able to lie in it and look at the things, but they're still too high up for her. Yesterday, Frank brought out the one where the activities are closer to her reach. At first, she looked at it for a long time. We thought that she couldn't reach the things and that we'd have to wait for a few more weeks, but... suddenly, she reached up and hit one figure. Then she did it again. So, I guess she got the hang on how to play with a baby gym yesterday. This happened when she was exactly six weeks old.

*sigh* Now she's crying again. Gotta go.
