Today's Leftovers, 2nd Issue 2010

  • After drafting our local Greens' motions for the local budget proposal and our according pressrelease, my brain is really, really tired. I should give my brain and body some rest soon. I really feel like I had enough of politics for this week, so I really hope myfriend Heidi will successfully prevent any talk of politics during our visit at some friends' house tomorrow :-)

  • Why on earth do (grand)parents with their (grand)kids in tow hurry across a street, when TWO different pedestrian lights are just a few steps away? It doesn't matter that the traffic wasn't moving because there was a red traffic light at that moment. It's irresponsible and reckless and just plain stupid! And sadly enough it happens all the time :-(

  • I have no idea why, but vanilla is my favourite scent (candles and such) in the wintertime

  • My new tea set still makes me very happy whenever I look at it...

  • There is a theory that in the 2nd or 3rd century BC the birthdate of Jesus (and the celebrations that came along with it in the following centuries) has been moved from spring or summer to the date on which we now celebrate christmas to replace the pagan celebration of winter solstice. Maybe I should propose something similar to my mom: to move her birtday (December 4th) to a date in the summer. Because walking in the freezing cold of a freezing winter to the restaurant for her birthday dinner is just no fun.

  • I have no idea what they tasted before Pepperidge Farm started using the "new recipe" with "improved taste & softer texture". But the "Soft Baked Montauk Milk Chocolate" cookies, which I just now remembered I still had in my cupboard ever since I got back from the Indian Summer vacation are really, really, really yummy. Chocolate-y and chewy, just like Chocolate Chip Cookies are supposed to taste like...

  • I still haven't made up my mind if posts like this one are supposed to get the "Miscellaneous" titel or if the various thoughts are too short for that and thus better are put under a "Between Tweet and Blog Post" title. Or under something completely different? Today's Leftovers, maybe ;-)?
