Olympics really don't help with trying to at least get enough sleep during this corticoidsteroids IV cycle *sigh* I don't sleep well with these meds in my bloodstream anyway and now that I'm forced to stay up late at night to watch Olympics and I have to get up around 7.30 AM to get to the practice around 9 AM and usually doing some stuff in the afternoon (houshold chores or answering some mails or taking care of some small work-related issues) I have no idea when to lay down and try to rest a bit ;-) Oh well, I'm still not walking around zombie-like, so that's ok so far ;-)
I don't know if it's the lack of sleep or the meds, that give me a slight headache. Or not even an ache, but it's just feeling a bit weird. I actually wanted to watch the hockey game CAN - NOR last night, but dozed off before it was supposed to start and when I remembered to turn on the TV, the German station, which was supposed to broadcast it, hadn't started to do so, but was showing something else (Curling?) instead. So I opted against staying up and did catch a couple of hours of sleep until I 5.30 am, but managed to doze off again for a while. So that's 4 hours of sleep + maybe 2 hours of on and off dozing. Oh well...
I've given up chocolate for Lent for at least the last 5 years or maybe even longer. I wanted to do that again this year and also give up my frequent Starbucks visits, because it really got slightly addictive, since they opened a coffeehouse in the "new" central station in the town I work in. I'm still determined to give up Starbucks, but I'm not sure I will be able to give up chocolate this year. Because right now, with the lack of sleep and the stupid meds and the frustration a current MS attack still causes, I just can't live without chocolate. Just not possible. Maybe I'll give it a try next week. But probably not... :-)
During the first IV yesterday I tried to read some of the studymaterial I need to work through for the assignment for the one remaining class I'm currently enrolled in during my Master's program. But I just couldn't concentrate, so I was glad that I had also tought of taking a book with me and thus finally started reading "The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet". OMG, what an incredible, awesome, amazing and unusual novel. I've only managed to read the first 60 pages so far, but I totally love it and am looking forward to be spending some more time with T.S. Spivet and his awesome maps for the next few days.
And now... off to grab something to eat and then back to bed, trying to get some rest before Team Germany will take on the Sedin Twins at home in Vancouver :-). I really hope my guys will fight as much as the Swiss did against the USA last night, because of course the Swedish team is the better and stronger one and the predicted winner of this game. But you'll never know... :-)
