My Mother 2
I guess I'm still quite shocked by the news that my mother's got cancer in the brain. I can't really talk about it without tearing up a little.
I went to see Mum this evening and she seemed at peace with the situation. The specialist gives her 6 months maximum but we're hoping that he'll be proved wrong. I don't think I've ever seen my father come this close to tears before.
Our pastor and several members of our church came to give her moral and spiritual support. I too received great encouragement from their sharing. Generally speaking I'm at peace with whatever happens but I really want her around to see my girls grow up. My brother's wife is having their first child in December... I'm sure they want her there too. Mum's still relatively young (62) and she's always been so healthy... so health conscious... Cancer is certainly no respector of persons.
