Being that I'm home for months at a time during the year, I'm interested in starting an Etsy store. However, I can't do that until I have products to sell, and I can't make anything until I have supplies!
Here's where you come in: I want some of your old stuff that you don't want anymore.
I'm interested in:
-Old Ripped Blankets and Sleeping Bags
-Old Sheets
-Old Towels
-Coats and sweatshirts
-Old Craft and Sewing Supplies, Notions, Fabric, yarn
-Old Graphic T Shirts
All of these things are going to be upcycled into cool, affordable products, and be sold to people who will love them! I'd be really grateful for the help, and you'd get your old stuff out of your hair! Please comment/contact me if you have any of these things and want them gone!
If you've got something not listed above that you think has the potential to be something great (but don't want to do it yourself) please contact me with that, too.
That post was crossposted from Facebook, but since you guys are my Eljay Frendz I figured I can tell you more about what I want to do/ make notes so I can remind myself why all this stuff is showing up in a week.
The ripped blankets and sleeping bags are going to be patched with quilt/applique/cool patches, growing up to be awesome, treasured blankets that get to see the world. Similarly, the towels are going to become giant beach towel quilts, I hope. Coats and sweatshirts will be recycled into more coats and cooler sweatshirts (I hope) Sheets and T-shirts will be lovingly transformed into patches. I'm also hoping to crochet small decorative patches out of donated yarn (and my own stash, which is extensive) and use them as appliques, as well. My stencils have also found a new purpose, as decoration on more custom patches.
I'm also interested in hearing the stories behind people's donations, so I can pass on the history to my customers!
