Pinging The Jobless- Go Dig A Hole!

Jan 08, 2010 03:06

Every year, I swear that I'm never coming back, but here it is 2010, and I'm making the plans to return.

I know a lot of my friends out there in LJ-land have come upon hard times. My times haven't been too hard, but that doesn't mean I'm not familiar with the feeling. Work is scarce.

For those who will still be looking in February for work in March, I come to you with an opportunity. Ever wanted to join the circus?

Building RPFS is hard, demanding, tiring work. It's early mornings in the cold and rain, hot afternoons in the beating sun, and digging holes six foot deep into a prolifically evil rock quarry. It can mean overtime well into the weekend or the night. It means sleeping in a tent, away from TV, and sometimes away from showers, and flush toilets, and electricity.

But it is work, and it's paid work, and it can be fun, rewarding work, with awesome coworkers like myself. So, if your liver can take it, and you've got the spleen to handle the work (and all the other internal organs you might need...) come build the faire with us.

Please comment if you are interested or have questions. Hire date is probably the last Thursday or Friday in February, and work starts (on my birthday! bastards!) March 1. Work is Monday-Friday until we're done with you, and then teardown begins the week after faire is over. Working crew is also a good way to get work at the faire in April and May, in costume or otherwise.
