Ahh, Belle and Sebastian. I really must get some more of their stuff. So, can you fathom it, faithful readers? Yesterday I DID NOT make one trip to Livejournal.com. Hard to believe, to be sure. I was out of the house from 10:30 am to 2 am. So it was a bit difficult to do any updating. I suppose I'll give a brief synopsis of my weekend thus far:
Friday: Dance for 2 hours, dinner, party at Candace's. Bubba let me have a Corona! He only had 2, but somehow I was allowed one of them, as was Candace. My respect for him has doubled. Apparently all the fun stuff happened after I had left. Damn. Damn having to come home. But it was all for the best, I'm sure. I roused myself at 9 am the following morning, which was a pain in the ass, as I was exhausted. Took me forever and a day to get myself together, I was so tired. Picked up Simon, and we went to Ithaca for the day. Now, I've decided that Ithaca is, in fact, the coolest city in the Northeast. It beats Burlington, in my book. Much more liberal. I saw a man wearing a sarong (aka SKIRT), with a toddler wearing nothing but a diaper and t-shirt. It seems to be Ithaca, in a nutshell. I resisted, with much effort, purchasing an "Ithaca is Gorges" shirt, because every tourist in the place was sporting one. Went in some completely awesome shops, including a sizeable thrift store, which I could have stayed in all day. I treated myself like I haven't done in AGES. Bought a completely amazing indian wrap skirt, 2 posters for my dorm room (Smiths and Trainspotting), and 4 used books at the Autumn Leaves Used Books, or some shit. Simon got a Springsteen record, it was Live from Asbury Park, or some other awesomeness. Man, Iggy Pop is rockin. I digress. We visited the Treman State Park, which was absolutely beautiful. Beats Pixley Falls any day. I would love to come back and take photos. Essentially, it was one of the most amazing days I've had in ages. Start to finish. Some things are inexplicable. The way I felt yesterday was one such thing.
