Sometimes I wonder why I even bother anymore.
Try to invite people to dinner, they don't even bother responding.
Organise free events, people don't bother rsvping, even when I send a message asking.
Do people think I'm not worth the 10 seconds of their time to just say, 'hey Cass, not this time but thanks for thinking of me'?
On the flip side, hardly anyone else puts in the effort I do to maintain a friendship. I just feel like if I didn't bother, at least half of the people I like to hang out with would fade into the background and that's a pretty sad thought.
When did we become too busy to at least respond to a message from a friend?
Or the people who think it's acceptable to say yes to a catered event and then not show up?
