Still jobless. Still looking. Still applying. Still haven't heard from any of them. *sigh*

Got any hookups on jobs, send them my way.

Should be out and about later Friday night. Trying to plan a "Lansing" day/night for sometime soon. I'll surely let you know more when we get our plans ironed out.

Um, yeah... I've got nothin'.

JOB TITLE: Technology Trainer/Graphics Designer
Exempt Position

SALARY: $32,000/year with benefits

GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Support Services provides training and instruction to staff and the public in the use of any accessible library computer technology (hardware and software), basic and advanced Internet use, library automation software, word processing, graphics software; edits and creates library web pages; uses graphic design software to create marketing and in-house publications on a day-to-day basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

* Coordinates public training in the area of Internet skills, library and word processing software in a group or one-on-one settings.
* Trains current staff in new technology; updates staff technological skills; trains new hires in GDL technology; and works with volunteers to provide the basic skills needed to support library staff.
* Creates and edits web pages on the GDL web site under the direction of the Director of Support Services and the IT Department Manager.
* Creates collateral marketing tools such as posters, brochures, fliers, templates, etc. as assigned using Adobe graphic design software such as InDesign and PageMaker.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in computer technology or graphic design.
* Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Recent experience in technology training on several levels.
* Graphic design experience in the production of high quality, attractive collateral materials.
* Web page design experience including the editing and creating web pages with software such as Dreamweaver or direct coding.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule.
* Ability to operate several kinds of electronic media including projectors, DVD and sound players, computers.
* Knowledge and/or of Microsoft Office software, web design software, and graphics design software.
* Ability to work positively with diverse personalities and have sound judgment.
* Ability to learn and teach software or technology that is installed on library computers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit, stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and reach forward and above the head.
