See, I have the other problem. I /love/ to tell stories. I love to see people get really involved and so excited that I have to nudge them and remind them that I only type so fast, and my mind has to piece everything together that has been found out. It's /amazing/ to watch this in players.

My problem is, I tend to let my characters fade into the back when I'm running one of these scenes. I usually have someone either in the room or in pages going "Psst, you need to pose, hun. It's been like three rounds."

As for loose story lines versus rigid. When I came to Amber, it was from one of those rigid MUSHes where you felt you couldn't change anything. The story.. set. The players... set. At that point, what can you do? Now don't get me wrong. I loved our GM and we had many amazing stories, but we had to know where the lines in the sand were. What was our power? What was our ability to affect the world? How grand could it actually go?

Some games believe in complete tranparency. This is to say that you post every log, and people are encouraged to get involved. I don't know how this works, to be honest. I'm /told/ it's great, but I worry for the stories that go on behind the scenes and meta-gaming.
