MELTING POT

Jul 17, 2007 21:03

First of all, I'm not a huge fan of Nelly Furtado and couldn't stand "i'm like a bird" for the love of god, but her new album? I can't help to listen to it constantly ;)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speaking of music, i watched two mushy movies, because yes i like chick flicks and pansy stuffs like that.
"A lot like love" with Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet and "the lake house" with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.
I cried my eyes out while watching "the lake house" but this is another story...
Anyway this enabled me to listen to two very beautiful songs:
- Brighter than sunshine - Aqualung
- This never happened before - Paul Mc Cartney.
I'm a litterarly in luvv with those two songs. I wanted "The way you look tonight" to be my wedding dance, but now i'm thinking Paul Mc Cartney will do good too!
Nah i'll stick with my first love, i'll just have a second wedding dance then ;)

Really, if you don't already know those two songs, you might want to try listening to them. Those are beautiful songs.

I also saw "thanks for smoking" which i loved very much. I don't smoke, never have, and this movie is too damn hilarious.

As you may know, in July there is the Tour de France. It began in London this year, i wished i was there to see the beginning of the race, but i was in La Baule, i can't be everywhere at the same time. Plus with the bomb threats and all, my mother wouldn't have been too keen to see me going there.
And i don't have TV, so i follow the race thanks to the radio. This week-end i went back to Paris to see my mother and i have watched the Tour de France for 2 days!!
I don't know why but i can watch it an entire day, it's fascinating. On the other hand i can't stand watching tennis. Les goûts et les couleurs ne se discutent pas.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speaking of TV, my mother just bought a flat-screen, because our former TV was completly out of order. And now we have the TNT, the free chanels from the satellites that is.
So i was zapping between 6 channels like i always did, and by mistake i pushed the button 7 of the remote control, and i was shocked to see that there was indeed another channel there. But those channels don't seem so great anyway, of course it's free! Why should i expect anything else?
But still, new channels? Smooth!

Where i work, there is this guard who look exactly like Jesse Metcalfe. Don't get me wrong, Jesse Metcalfe is a addicted jerk, but you have to admit that he is good looking.
So every morning i'm practically drooling while going to my office. Nice way to begin my day don't you think?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know what's wrong with me these days, but i'm craving (and buying) junk food.
Yesterday i bought ice cream and peanut butter at the supermarket and today i'm craving a domino's pizza and a pecan nuts McFlurry. But i'll eat salad nonetheless, good thing i like salad :)
I bought the best ice cream ever, my favorite from all times: Praline and cream from Haggen Dazs ( however you spell it), only to remember afterward that my freezer was too small to put an ice cream chunk....
And peanut butter, i don't know why, but every 3 years i feel the need to buy a peanut butter jar. Peanut butter is not that popular in France. They think i'm a weirdo because i don't like "nutella" but i can eat peanut butter without problem.
Well technically i could eat Nutella, but i had an nutella overdose when i was young and since then i just don't feel like eating that thing.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

speaking of chocolate, i really wish it was chocolate on the button of the lift today.
I guess somebody made a prank or something because there was brown stuff on the button. I hope it's chocolate and not shit. Anyway i managed to push the button without touching any of that crap so yay me! :)
This makes me think of a silly little joke about lifts:
- comment appelle t-on l'ascenseur en Chine? En appuyant sur le bouton!
( How do you call the elevator in China? You push the button
In France it also means, what do you call elevator in Chinese, how would you translate elevator in Chinese... thus the joke)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't get any sleep this night. First of all it's almost 30°C in my appartment and i can't sleep with such heat. And i don't know why but i craved old One Tree Hill episodes. So i watched some S1 parts during the night. Needless to say i wasn't in a good shape this morning.

Is this normal to miss cheerleading that much? I cheered for 4 years and i'm still excited every time i see cheerleaders on a movie or a TV show. I just feel like doing the routine with them. Those were good times, good memories! :)
