Let me sum up.
Weekend = good. Gaming went OMG too late on both Friday and Saturday, but it was still a lot of fun. The session was good -- although I do wish things would stop trying to eat my head -- and filled with fine and pleasant company.
On Sunday, we took the Bit out to brunch at
Canoe. She'd requested a "meal at a fancy restaurant" a week or so ago, and it's good motivation for her to work on her table manners. I'm pleased to report that she was excellently well-behaved and has been assured that we can out to other Fancy Places again. The only thing that really threw her was the valet parking; she did not understand why someone else had to go park our car. Admittedly, since there was an empty parking lot when we showed up, we had trouble explaining this to her either. It was more apparent when we left and realized that the parking lot was holding about 50% more cars than it had spaces.
The Bit was also substantially better behaved than the three (older) children who were seated next to us. Admittedly, I can't really blame them as their mother was giving them no supervision whatsoever, but I can blame her. Who takes three children (4, 6 and 8 would be my guess) to a nice restaurant, pays them no heed while they climb the walls (literally; they were trying to climb the walls) and then lets them do piggy-back rides among the other tables? Does she think that these children will just magically have good manners some day? Does she not care? Hrmph.
And lastly, the house in on the market as of this morning; we'll see if we get any nibbles at all. Anyone wanna buy a house? :-)
