Once upon a time, a little pooh. A little pooh always looking sleepy, having a beautiful brown fur and caramel eyes. He always had been calm, fragile, compared to the others who looked strong and full of life. That's why he had always been rejected by the others. Being all alone, the little pooh started to stay away but maybe one day, he would find his place.
It's a bit sad for who would hear his story but, for him, his life was better in his world of loneliness and peace than in the one that led the society. Or at least, he was trying to think that.

This noble animal always went deep in the forest, at least, once per day, to enjoy a siesta next to a field of flowers.
Once reaching his favorite tree, a big oak-tree with lots of leafs that was offering a fresh corner of shadow, the little pooh laid on the cool grass under the tree.
It's with happiness that he closed its eyes, falling asleep in his fairy-like world.
- E-Excuse me... Please...
The bear groaned. Who dared enter his peaceful place? Nobody ever came here.
Unwillingly, he opened its eyes and looked around him. The plain was still silent and empty besides his own presence.
- What is it?
- Here!
The same little voice as loud as a whisper said again. The bear looked up toward the top of the tree that he loved and saw, on a branch, at four or five meters from the ground, a little rodent with chubby cheeks, shaking, looking afraid and gripped at the trunk with determination.
- Please... Uhg... Can you help me to get down?
The bear looked at him with surprise.
- But... You are a chipmunk, aren't you?
The little creature smiled sadly and nodded.
- I... I've always been scared by highs...
- Then, why are you in a tree?
- I... I wanted to prove them that I was able...
The bear snorted. It was stupid to want to look stronger than we were and mostly, to try to prove it to someone else. Nevertheless, this little chipmunk is stronger than him. He doesn't hesitate to confront his fear to be accepted in another group.
He looked at the rodent who was still desperately gripped at the tree's bark with its little paws and a begging look.
- Alright, I'm going to help you.
- T-Thank you!
- But... Do you trust me?
The chipmunk blinked, surprised by this question but answered without any hesitation.
- Of course!
The bear's eyes widened. It was the first time someone trusted him, and, with so much confidence.
- I... I'm going to stand up on the tree and raise my nose, you will come to grab it and I'll get down, okay?
- Yes!
The bear did as he said and helped the little creature to get down in security. Once on the ground, the rodent sighed in relief.
- Thank you very much.
- ....
- Ne.... Do you often come here?
- Yes.
- Wou-would it bother you if I came here sometimes?
The bear was surprised by this sudden request. Nobody had ever asked him his agreement and less to stay by his side. This little chipmunk was definitely interesting.
- I own nothing here... The bear whispered.
- .... It means... Ah! Thank you!
The little animal jumped everywhere before stopping in front of the bear.
- It's a promise! We'll see each other soon, then!
The chipmunk left as fast as its little paws allowed him. The bear's look followed him without knowing what to think. Everything was unexpected, freshness and intriguing. Today, his siesta had been troubled by curiosity.
- Anyway~
The bear turned and tried to continue what he had started at the beginning, a long and peaceful siesta.

- Oh, the apathetic bear! Go take some berries for the lunch. The gray bear spitted with scorn and a deep voice.
Used to this treatment, the bear left his corner next to a cold rock, far away from the welcoming warmth lightened by the sun on the field that the group occupied.
- Hurry up! The bear groaned.
It's with the same scorn than the dark bear, that the others around him, looked at the weak bear.
Once far ways from the group, he sighed tiredly. Even after all these years it was hard to handle it. If... If only he found a place where to belong...
Without noticing it, the bear arrived quickly in front of a little bush full of berries that he quickly picked but carefully not to scratch it.
- Over! The bear exclaimed with enthusiasm.
After his scream of joy, he heard a whimper. A shiver crossed its body, this forest was known not to be occupied by only cute little animals.
It's with prudence that he left slowly, far away from the scaring noise.
- Uggh
A second whimper stopped him, but this time, not from fear. This moan was long and full of pains. Its mind doubted but its heart ordered him to go toward the whine.
The bear ran until he could hear a heavy and panting breathe next to him. His eyes scanned the carpet made of grass and flowers, to find the weak animal.
His research stopped on a little ginger form, laid in the grass. The bear approached it slowly and once next to it, warned the animal of his presence.
- Ex-Excuse me? Are you okay?
- Uhg...
None answer came except the painful whines. The bear approached again this little ball.
At several centimeters in front the creature, the bear realized it was a small rabbit with a visibly soft and warm fur.
The rabbit's breathe was jerky, its eyes closed. His pain was obvious.
- Uhh...
The little bear put softly its paw on the rabbit's forehead. It was too hot and without waiting anymore, lifted the weak body toward a shadow's corner where he could heal him. The bear put the rabbit on the ground, half-sit, as softly as possible.
- Don't move! I... I'll bring you something fresh.
The rabbit didn't seem to hear anything because of the pain.
The bear came back quickly, panting, with a leaf full of water. He took another leaf, smaller that he soaked with water to put it on the rabbit's forehead. The rabbit seemed to like the freshness, his breathe calming a bit.
- I'm going to give you some water, okay?
The rabbit opened its mouth automatically and swallowed slowly the water. Then, the bear laid him completely on a nest of leafs and stroked kindly the top of its head, checking if the leaf was still fresh enough.
The rabbit had calmed down and was sleeping deeply under the bear's relief look.
- It's going to be all right, you look determinate. The bear smiled.
He heard a little growl coming from the sick rabbit's empty stomach. He laughed, amused and remembered the berries that he had left in the forest and walked toward it with tiredness. Once he found them, the bear came back toward the rabbit that was now, sat against the tree, looking surprised. The bear approached him shyly.
- You... You look better.
The rabbit raised its head quickly toward him and smiled warmly, surprising the bear because of this smile as shining at the sun.
- It's you who has taken care of me, ne? Thank you very much! Oh... I'm truly sorry for having disturbing you, I'm better now because of you.
The bear stared at him without knowing what to say. He talked a lot and it was impossible to say that just some minutes ago, he was suffering a lot.
- You're... You're welcome.
- Thank you very much! What's your name? Where are you from? Ah! Do you like playing?!
- ....
The bear panicked a bit in front of the sudden excitation of the friendly rabbit. Realizing it, the rabbit laughed, shameless.
- Haha, sorry! I'm used to be too excited. It's why I was sick. My family must be very worried and... His happy expression started to fade.
- I wasn't able to find something to eat finally. He thought a bit before saying.
- I should go and find it not to disappoint them. I'm very sorry, I would like to stay longer and thank you properly but I have to hurry.
The bear tightened its grip around the small package of berries between its paws and stammered.
- I... I have this. If you want. For you and your family. He held out the small package toward the surprised rabbit.
- These are berries? Really? I can have it? But you...
- I don't need it.
The bear knew that anyway, no matter how many berries he brought back, the group would never accept him, so, the happiness of this little rabbit was enough.
- Thank you very much! I don't know how to thank you...
- I don't need it.
- But...
- I have to go now that you feel better, be careful though. The bear smiled softly and left without more words, he wasn't used to long conversations after all.
The rabbit looked at him leaving and jumped on its two paws, hugging the little package and screamed with all his strength.
- We'll see each other again!! Take care!!
The bear didn't turn around but smiled. Today, he had met a sunshine, something that had warmed its day.
*****
The sun was slowly disappearing and finding some warmth would be now, a miracle. The bear was shivering under its brown fur. It's with courage that he decided to look for something to eat and walked far in the forest.
The clouds were low in the sky, forming a light veil above the trees, the air was humid and heavy. It was even more difficult to see his way with this fine mist that was wrapping the forest.
The bear walked with attention not to bump into a tree but didn't expect to find another beast.
- Itai!
- Ah! So-Sorry. The bear stammered.
- No... I'm also sorry, I was in the middle of the way.
The bear's eyes widened, seeing a beautiful crow with black bewitch feather that was shining. Its small eyes were intense, this mysterious attracting darkness but what attracted him, was its presence in the forest.
- We are in the forest, why are you here? The bear asked.
The crow seemed uncomfortable at this question.
- I... It's none of your business!
The bear arched its eyebrows at this answer. He didn't mean to be curious but, for a crow, coming deep in the forest was weird and it must have a reason, or... He was simply lost.
- Oh, okay, sorry... I thought you were lost but I was wrong.
The bird gagged with its own saliva before replying.
- H... How?!
- Oh~ It's that... Am I wrong?
- I...
- Do you want I help you to join a plain or another...
- I don't need anyone's help!!! The crow screamed.
The bear stared at him not understanding. Maybe he didn't look reliable and the crow rejected him because of that.
- I can find someone else to guide you if you don't trust me, He smiled sadly.
- Someone else? No... I don't want any help, I can do it myself.
The bear frowned.
- Since how long are you searching?
- Maybe some hours... Ah...
- Follow me.
- No! Wait! I told you that...
- I don't want anything else in return, I don't help you by pity. It's just my way and it doesn't bother me, okay?
Tears filled the crow's eyes but he pushed it away.
- If... If you say so...
They walked through the forest, the bear following him. Several minutes later, they reached a big plain.
- From here, you'll fly easily and find your way to leave, the bear smiled softly.
- I... I knew it! But...
The crow flew away, mumbling a "thank you".
The bear looked at the disappearing crow in the sky. Today, he had met his doubts, the pride of not asking for help but mostly the courage of always facing, even alone.

A cold breeze announced invisibly the arriving if the winter. The bear shook its coat and sighed in front of the unavoidable long winter that he would spend in hibernation. He really hated it.
Pushing away this thought, he decided to walk toward the river.
Once in front of the big blue gap, he smiled, satisfied that there was no one else, it would allow him to take a nap.
He approached slowly the edge and dived its paw, a shiver crossing its body. The water was icy. Another thing he hated.
Its look traveled on his reflect slightly distorted by the moving water. Its expression was unreadable, like its thoughts. A detail in this pure mirror attracted his attention.
On the rock on the edge of the river, was standing a fox. Its beauty was breath-taking, its fur was surprisingly pale, contrasting with its sharp nature. Its dark piercing eyes were livid and very sad. The bear's heart tightened at this heartbreaking view of the beautiful animal devoid of joy.
He stared at him for a long time in an awkward silence. Without even asking him, he understood his pain, without even talking to him, he could hear his distress and without even listening to him, his heart was linked to his.
A similarity, an attraction, a need to be by his side, it was all he needed actually.
The fox snorted, did he cry? Then, its empty eyes came back to life. He was about to sigh but stopped. Its eyes were staring at the bear with surprise.
As if he wanted to hide its pain, he raised its head and took a neutral look.
- You are a pervert bear to look at people that you don't know, the fox groaned.
The bear gagged with its own saliva at this sentence.
- Per-Pervert?!
- What else? The fox replied.
- No... I....
- Don't worry... I'll keep your secret... The mischievous tone and the bratty look made the bear shiver.
- It's...
- In exchange... You'll keep mine. The fox smirked, his sad expression vanished.
The bear didn't understand what he meant but, this big visible pain in its eyes, yet, so shining was enough to convince him to keep any secret about him.
- Shouldn't you be in hibernation, old pervert bear?
The bear smiled at the tease and answered honestly.
- Yes... But, the loneliness scares me. Ashamed of his own honesty, the bear looked away.
- I see... The fox whispered for himself.
Without any explanation, the fox got down its rock and approached the bear. He sat next to him, laying its head against him and mumbled in front of the shocked bear.
- It's comfortable enough here... I think I'll sleep like that.
The bear was surprised but mostly touched... He relaxed and smiled widely, whispering a "thank you" that disappeared quickly in the wind's melancholia.
Today, he had met an ally, this person who didn't need words to understand him but also, the one who would fill its loneliness.

Several weeks later...
- Hey, Teddy Bear! These guys were looking for you, do you know them? The fox exclaimed.
The bear who was dozing in his cavern, unable to hold on in front of the coming hibernation of its sort, raised its head lazily toward its friend. He stared at them for a while with a sleepy and lost look before remembering.
- Hey, hello! We finally meet again~ the chipmunk said happily, now, stronger and more muscular.
- Thank you again for the last time, the rabbit smiled warmly.
- So, I didn't find your cavern and finally asked for some help, the crow smirked.
The bear marveled in front of all these previous meetings, that had all a big meaning in its life.
He turned toward the fox who, as usual was next to him possessively, and said with a smile.
- Yes, I know them, it's my friends.

- Oh-chan? Oh-chan, wake up! It's time. Nino looked at him with a half reproaching, half tenderly look.
- You really should think about sleeping more often instead of fishing, old man...
